Unconventional Thankfulness

So it would only be right for everyone to post that they are thankful for friends and family. I fall into that category as well. The importance of family and friends means the world to me.

Here are some things I’m thankful for:
That God woke me up N_My_Write_Mind
For the random stories that I type
I have a steady hand to cook
I have the strength and balance to walk
For a car and gas to get from here to there
For a place to call home
That I have a job to report to

I could list all the little small things that I have that make me grateful. But there’s something a little unconventional about what I’m thankful for. It’s all those trials, loops and hoops that I had to jump through to get me to this day.

My road has not always been clear. It hasn’t always been smooth and it for sure has not been on the path of what I want. But let me tell you, I’m still thankful. Had it not been for my trials, I wouldn’t have learned. If it wasn’t for the hoops, I wouldn’t have discovered just how far I could jump.

So this year, I just want to say that I’m thankful for the little things. But it’s those unwanted hurdles that have made me hold on just a little tighter. Those tears I cried, were all dried up by God.

It may seem a bit unconventional. But to me, it’s a deeper flow of gratefulness.
